Since COVID-19 became news in the United States, hate speech and violence against the AAPI community has run rampant. Every week, social media feeds are flooded with news reports of assaults and attacks on the elderly, the vulnerable, the unprotected members of our community.Īccording to Stop AAPI Hate, its latest report released in March reveals the number of reported of anti-Asian hate incidents totaled 10,905 from March 2020 through the end of last year. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community has experienced exponential growth in anti-AAPI hate and violence.
